1/2010 New Years Resolution: Have the time of my life because I only live once and I'm in college

Can I just say that for the duration that I am in college, I will probably never finish the 50 books challenge but I will keep on trying!. I just don't have time! Even though I wish I did... As for the great guy friend, I haven't found a guy who I can talk to about everything but I did find a great guy friend :)

I stayed on campus a lot more sprin semester of last year and fall semester of this year. As a result I was able to spend more time hanging out with friends. I definitely went to more college parties (at UST) and this semester they were all FUN. Last semester was just a mess and each weekend was a shitshow. Oh and man, I had the suckiest goals ever... "test my limit?" what the fuck was I on when I wrote this? Was I drunk too? Whatever. I got better goals for the next year!

Despite the bad times, there was a lot of good times as well and overall 2010 was fun for the most part :)

The Holidays

I'm gonna making two posts today so I'll make this as short as I can. So break started the 21st for me. I found out that I got 2 A's, 2 A-'s and 1 B+ and I still have a 3.71 GPA sooo I'm still on the Dean's List!!! And hopefully my GPA will be good enough for the nursing program... which I still have to do the essays for... Yikes.

So far my break has gone well! I spent all of Christmas Eve with my cousins on my dad's side of the family. We went sledding in the morning which was really fun! I haven't gone sledding in such a long time. Then we came back to my grandma's house and we had a Christmas party there. Ate tons of food, and opened presents at night. I got the usual gift cards and money but I also got The Hangover on DVD and Victoria Secret's Pink brand yoga pants from Nina & Heidi! THEY ARE SO COMFY! I love them.

I spent all of Christmas day with my mom's side of the fam at my Uncle Thanh's huge house! I honestly don't know what other family I'd want to spend a whole day (because I get sick of people pretty quick... hah I kid, I kid). It was sooo much fun. I ate a bitchton of food and was constantly eating throughout the day. We even had oysters! Yummm. My cousins and I played with our baby cousin My An... she is so freakin' adorable! Then we opened presents and got the usual again, gift cards and money haha. But I also got a pretty skirt and cute cardi from Amanda (which i'm gonna wear tonight for the NYE party)!

After Christmas, I started working again. So far it hasn't been that bad but I think it's about time I quit. I've worked there for awhile and I need new experiences, plus I just want more free time haha. But we'll see if I can find a new job first... Other than work, I've got to hang out with friends! I hung out with Megan the Wednesday before Christmas Eve. I always have fun with Megan, she's so funny and we have sooo much in common. Last Monday, I went out to lunch at Kyoto for all you can eat sushi with my cousin Che Khenh, her fam, my mom and Amanda. And then I had all you can eat sushi AGAIN at Kami's at night with Gord, his cousin Walt, and Sarah because it was the last time I'd get to see him before he left for Malibu :/ Two all you can eat meals in one day wasn't the best idea haha but it was sooo good. I woke up craving more sushi!

On Tuesday I hung out with Rumie before work! We only hung out for like an hour but we went to Tea Garden and shopped around, it was fun! Wednesday I worked but I got to hang out with Lizzie afterwards so it was all good! We went to this amazing cafe called Pardon My French. I had this delicious prosciutto baguette... yumm. Afterwards we went to the MOA to go shopping, and I bought this cute all lace shirt.

Yesterday, I babysat my cousin's children Brandon and Jayson with Amanda overnight. It was actually a lot of fun because we have the same sense of humor as them... what does that say about us? haha. we played Monopoly, Uno, Sorry and a LOT of Family Feud haha.

Now I'm back at the apartment with Amanda and we're just chillin' before we work out. Then we're gonna get ready for the party at Luke's tonight!! I'm so excited, for once I'm doing something for New Years Eve!

Which reminds me... gotta work on my Year in Review 2010! Peace out!

DONE WITH FINALS FOR FALL SEMESTER!!! WHAT UP WINTER BREAK 2010?!

Finals Week

The two hours of hell (in which i had to take two exams within a two hour period) is finally over! I was able to take my chem exam in 45 minutes, walk across the Washington Ave Bridge in 4 minutes and got to my Spanish exam with a little over an hour to finish the exam. Everything went as planned :) and I got an A- on both exams which means I have an A in both classes!

I only have more final in Nutrition today at 4 and then I'm officially done with my 3rd semester of college! Man, time really does fly by. I'd say this is probably the best semester so far. Why? Several reasons:

1) I have awesome roomies! I'm living with my cousin Amanda, Caitlyn and Sarah. I didn't know Caitlyn and Sarah at first but we get along really well now. I'm so glad that the rooming situation worked out so well because it was the one thing I worried about.

2) I've made a lot of new friends through Amanda. I've spent a lot of time at UST this semester and it has always been fun whenever I was there!

3) I also met a lot of great friends in my classes and my classes were fun so it was even more enjoyable!

4) Best moments would probably include Halloween, Caitlyn's birthday weekend, and the night I went to the Bakery (coolest attic ever) at UST.

There are more reasons but those were the top ones :)

Now back to studying for my last exam...

Venting

You know how I said "tmrw will be a better day"? Yeah well, that most definitely did not happen. I emailed each of my professors in Chem and Spanish and I also emailed the head of the Spanish department... nothing. They said there's nothing they can do about it and that it's too late to request taking the exam at an alternate time. I am now forced to take both exams within the two hour period. I'm absolutely furious and stressed the fuck out about it. But there's nothing I can do but prepare myself so I can finish each exam within an hour. But I would have to try to get from West bank to East bank as fast as possible on that day. And taking the bus is not an option because there's a fcking Vikings game at the TCF Bank Stadium that day. WHAT WAS THE U THINKING?! Seriously, a game on finals day... STUPID BITCHASSHOES. Ugh whatever I WILL make this work. I have to...

It was so embarassing when I was talking to my professor because I totally broke down in front of her... in the hallway where everyone could see us. I've never done it before. I hate crying in front of people, or crying at all really. But on the bright side, my Spanish professor told me that even if I got an "F" on the final, I'd still have an "A" in the class... which is a relief because I won't have to worry bout it too much.

I had such a terrible day yesterday but thank goodness my mom came to pick me up so we could go shopping! It was much needed. I didn't buy much for myself because we were Christmas shopping but it was still fun! I love my mom :)

Blogging also helped a lot. I really need to keep up with this haha

man i really suck at blogging

Probably will say this each time i blog haha. maaahhh bad. anyways. so recap:

I went on my date with Richy to the Science Museum. It was fun, we went to Chipotle for lunch first and then headed to the museum. We checked it out then watched Hubble. and before we went back we hit up Rice Park and had a snowball fight haha. Sad to say, I got owned but never again! I will get my revenge some time... but I don't know when that will be because I realized that I don't like him that way. He's a cool guy but he's not my type to say the least. Oh well...

So after that, we were going to go to Sami's holiday party together but he ended up going home, which was fine because it would have been awkward if he had stayed over at my apartment that night. The party itself was a lot of fun. I didn't drink much but it was fun hanging with Sami and her roomies. We played Ninja (super fun game!), beer pong, and four corners. It was a fun and relaxing night :)

This past weekend I went out to sushi with Gord and Sami. Sushi was amaaazing as always. And of course, it was a great time like it always is with Gord and Sami :) I'm definitely going to miss Gord when he transfer to frickin' Malibu! :(

If you live in MN, you'd know that there was a HUGE blizzard that hit us on Saturday... all day. I decided the night before (night of sushi) that I'd go home because I was supposed to go to Maily's birthday party back at home and I knew the blizzard was coming. So that made me miss Melissa's going away party, which I felt bad about :/ And Maily's party ended up getting cancelled... so I went home for no reason pretty much. I was bored but it was definitely a much needed relaxing weekend before finals.

So that brings us to this week. Yesterday was a good day... today, not so much. I just found out that my Spanish final is the same day and same time as my Chem final. So I told my bitch of a Spanish professor that and she said "well, that's too bad". fucking bitchassho. I hate her. lskdgj; I'm sorry Professor that you said that the final was on the 21st and that the syllabus was wrong and then correct yourself and I couldn't do anything bout it til now. NOT MY FAULT. ANGER. >:[

Oh and to top it all off, I decided to rid myself of a certain boy yesterday only to see him today. It's like guys have sensors that let them know when a girl gives up on them or something. Ridick. LIFE, WHY ARE YOU SO CRUEL TO ME?!

Whatever, the day is almost over. Tmrw will be a better day... hopefully

mm oatmeal :)

It's finally Friday! I've had such a long week and now I finally get to relax because I don't have class today! I started off the day by making oatmeal and coffee with Amanda, yummm :)

So before talking about THIS weekend, I must talk about LAST weekend. saturday, I went to the football game and ... WE WONNNN!!!!!! First home game that they won... too bad it was the last haha. I am SO glad I went to the game. Sami and I were jumping up and down, screaming, yelling profanities whenever we did something stupid or the other team got a touchdown. It was an intense game but it was epic! Sami and I jumped the wall to get onto the field... I sorta hurt myself but it's all good now! After the game I went to the MOA to shop! I got a ton of cute stuff from Delia's. after that I shopped at other stores while I waited for Amanda to get off work so we could go to Urban Outfitters. Did that, went back to Amanda's house, went grocery shopping and then back to our apartment! We decided to work out that night, man was I out of shape haha.

Then I was constantly doing homework the entire week. I did have a few breaks to go out to eat with my mom at Joe's Crab Shack on Tuesday night and then Punch Pizza for lunch on Wednesday afternoon with Divya. Yesterday was a super long day, I had a test in Spanish from 12:20-1:10, sat in Coffman and ate lunch, went to a nursing application prep workshop from 2:30-3:30, went to Nutrition class from 4:00-5:15, and then met up with my group from Spanish to film a project til like 9:00, came back and watched chem lectures and did homework until 1AM. And finally my day was over! Now I know what Amanda's Mondays and Wednesdays are like... ew. haha

THIS WEEKEND: Today I volunteer at United Hospital from 2-5 (I get to see Eric yay!), then I'm hanging out with Megan at 7! Ahh I miss hanging out with her so much! Tmrw, Richy's coming over and we're going to lunch and then the Science Museum for our date :) Afterwards, I'm going to Sami/Callie/Holly's Holiday party at their apartment! and Sunday I'll be studying for the Chem exam... ick. haha.

Turkey Day

I got to go home early this year for Thanksgiving and at first I was super excited but when I actually got home, I wished I hadn't. I love being at home sometimes but I love being at my apartment so much more. I used to think that I could never live on my own, I was soooo dependent on my parents. I mean, I still am financially but with cooking and stuff like that I'm getting better now, especially with the help of Amanda.

Anyways, despite my apartment-sickness, haha, Thanksgiving was great as usual :) Family parties are usually always great. I went into a food coma like twice. I had spring rolls, turkey, mashed potatoes, shrimp, fried rice, GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE, and a bitchton of other food. Amanda and I decided to pace ourselves but that didn't work out well haha.

The next day/yesterday was Black Friday. I've been going Black-Friday shopping since I was in like middle school but for the past two years or so, I haven't gone. Why? A) my mom is too lazy/tired haha. B) I have to work and C) i'm too lazy/tired haha.

Finally today, I'm going to go to lunch with Sami around 1 and then we're gonna watch the last Gopher Football home game! I'm really excited even though I'm gonna be freezing my butt off! I'm just excited to finally hang out with Sami and talk to her IN PERSON. and then afterwards, it's back to my apartment! I might go to the mall and shop but I haven't decided for sure yet... Right now I'm thinking yes.

well hello again

on a scale of 1-10 for how awesome this weekend was, i'd give it a 100. IT WAS SO BOMB. honestly, it was probably the best weekend i've ever had because a) all my friends were there / b) we never had to leave our apartment except for when we had to go get ppl / c) boy A was there! / d) i gained over 15 friends this weekend, which i'm excited about haha.

we probably had the best set up. we had all the lights off but we had christmas lights up everywhere so it gave the apartment a cool vibe. we had 3 posters of pictures of Caitlyn (bc it was her birthday!) and one poster for ppl to sign. and then we had FREE jello shots and cupcakes for everyone. oh and we also had a beer pong table and had a dance party going both nights! we were told that our party was the best one ppl have been to so far. i haven't heard a single person complain. even though we ran out of jello shots for saturday, everyone still loved the party.

friday night was really fun (despite the whole drama incident with Boy J in which we had another argument) but i definitely enjoyed saturday more because Boy A came to visit! i was so excited that he could make it :) i missed him so much. my roomies probably got sick of me talking bout him haha.

we hung around each other most of the night and also might have made out in front of everyone haha... oops. it was funny because everyone yelled "GIT SUM" when it happened. embarassing but we did that to every couple/guy and girl in the room haha.

overall, what a great weekend :)

Oh so lonely

I'm alone in my apartment right now and it's kind of depressing.... Come back roomies! I miss youuu.

Haha, anyways. Aside from this lonely moment, today was actually pretty good. I woke up at 10, well actually 8 but I went back to sleep. And then I relaxed for awhile before going out to lunch with Caitlyn at Jimmy John's. It was pretty good, but people were right when they said they have too much mayonnaise on it. After JJ, we chilled in the apartment for a bit before my mom came to pick me up to go volunteer at United Hospital in St. Paul (which I do every Friday). I actually really enjoyed it because all the people in the PDS (Patient Discharge Services) room were really awesome and nice. Oh and I saw Boy E haha. (I won't give out his name so we'll just call him that - hopefully he doesn't ever find this) He's this really cool, nice and smart guy who I found out goes to the U and his hometown is right next to mine! Crazy huh? Well, yeah you could say I kind of like him but I only see him on Fridays and talk to him at the hospital. So we'll see how that goes haha.

The second thing that made my day/night was that I found out Boy A (he's a boy from my hometown who I've known for like 8 years) is for sure coming up next weekend to watch HP 7 and party with me! I AM SO EXCITED, you have no idea. ...again I hope these guys don't read my blog because that'd be embarassing haha.

Well I'm going to go eat now, I'm starving!

1 Day Down

I successfully stayed off of Facebook for more than 24hours! However, I keep catching myself trying to click on the (now) non-existent tab on my bookmarks bar... mahhh bad haha. I'll forget about it over time, I have no doubt of it. For now, it's still so incredibly weird not having a Facebook. I feel like my social life is just... gone. Which is terrible because my social life should never be virtual.

Anyways, I feel like I haven't really talked about what has been going on in my life lately. Let's see... school-wise, it's going well. My classes are relatively easy and I actually LOVE all of my classes, especially Spanish. I didn't love it at first because I was annoyed that the class was pretty much a review of what I've learned in the past but now I'm really glad I'm taking it. I've become a stronger writer and have improved on my listening and speaking. Apparently I have one of the highest grades in the class and my professor wants to recommend me for a combination of a 1003 & 1004 class. Sweet!

Social life, well my social life really consists of hanging out with my roomies on the weekdays but I'm not complaining! I have a lot of fun with them. On the weekends, I hang out with mostly Amanda, Lynn, Urte and the crew at UST. I love hanging out with them! Mostly because it's drama-FREE and soooo chill. If you know about my year last year, you'd know that these people aren't the ones I hung out with last year but I won't go into detail about that. Things and people change, and life goes on. All I gotta say.

As for my love life... well let's just say it's pretty much non-existent as of right now. I've come to realize that things happen when you least expect it to. So I'm just going to sit back, not care and let fate do all the work :)

My World Without Facebook

It's so weird not having a Facebook. Without it, I realize how much time I actually spent on it. I woke up this morning thinking to myself that there's no point in getting up at the normal time (9:30 - which is already pretty late) because I can't go on Facebook anymore. No! Bad Ashley. I shouldn't think like that. Facebook should not be the reason why I get up in the morning..... wow, that sounds wrong.

I'm going to try and see how long I last without Facebook. Partially because I also am curious to see how many people will find out (because they tried to creep on me) and text me about it, haha.

In the mean time, I'm going to preoccupy myself with BOOKS, Roswell, and this blog (most of the time, at least)

What up Blogger?

I deactivated my Facebook. Let's just say, I found something else that would consume my time. Therefore, the point of deactivating my Facebook (be more productive) has proven to be pointless. Oh well, I'm still going to see how long this lasts just for kicks.

As of right now, I am chilling with my roommates in the family room because we decided it'd be a good idea if all of us deactivated our Facebooks. We're awesome.

So, until I decide that I absolutely need Facebook again (which I give myself approximately a week), I will continue to blog everyday. Which, if I'm going to be honest, probably won't happen either because if you follow my Livejournal, you can see that I miserably failed at even posting monthly.
